Amplifiers
Why do you need an amplifier? You need it for your sound to play loud AND clear. Whether you plan to crank up the volume or keep it low enough for a conversation, an amplifier will bring life to your music with minimum distortion. A vast majority of today’s amplifiers come with speaker level inputs, so you can add an amplifier even to factory-installed equipment. There are three major factors to consider before adding an amplifier: power output, number of channels and the dimensions of the amplifier. The number of channels will depend on the number of speakers in your system. Make sure the wattage of the amplifier is within the speaker's power handling. It's also a good idea to check that your electrical system can support the additional wattage. The dimensions of the amplifier are important because it must fit into the trunk of your car with ease, especially if adding a subwoofer(s) is your agenda.
